“Saturday at The Sawmill”

By Buzzards Bay Coalition September 8, 2017

Get up close and personal with the critters that live in our local freshwater rivers during “Saturday at The Sawmill” (32 Mill Rd., Acushnet) with the Buzzards Bay Coalition on Sept. 9 at 11:00 a.m.

During this free, family-friendly program, we’ll take a close look at aquatic macroinvertebrates (aka big water bugs) living in the Acushnet River. We’ll use nets to search for macroinvertebrates that live at the bottom of the river and learn about the interesting adaptations of these unusual creatures.

In addition to the “Macroinvertebrate Mayhem” program, The Sawmill’s Hawes Family Learning Center will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., when you can explore the learning center and speak with Coalition educators about the park and its restoration.
