Cape Cod Central Railroad Gives Back

By Rebecca Babineau, Editor/Publisher Macaroni Kid New Bedford November 21, 2013

The holiday fund-raising tradition in Bourne “Homeless for the Holiday's” received support in the way of a donation from Cape Cod Central Railroad's “Train to Christmas Town's First Responder Night”. The event was held Friday, November 15th 2013. First Responders from all over New England were given the opportunity to experience this magical holiday tradition with their families on-board The Cape Cod Central Railroad’s “Train to Christmas Town”. First Responders accompanied by their families received free tickets and were encouraged to make a $5 donation to benefit the Homeless for the Holidays fundraiser.

Each year Bourne Firefighters and staff from PIXY 103 FM spend the night in the cold December temperatures to collect unwrapped gifts, non perishable food and cash donations to benefit the Bourne Food Pantry as well as the Toys for Tots Organization.

Cape Cod Central Railroad would like to THANK all of the First Responders who give everyday of the year!

If you want to attend The Train to Christmas Town with your family this holiday season it officially opens to the public on Friday, November 22nd, and will run every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through December 29th with extra dates closer to the holiday. The schedule can be found on the Macaroni Kid New Bedford - Fall River - Southcoast Calendar and on the Web.

Tickets can be purchased at online at www.traintochristmastown.com/massachussetts/ and are available for standard class, first class and diamond class.
